Volunteering

RASA (Rape and Sexual Abuse) Merseyside is looking for passionate and dedicated women to join our volunteer team. By becoming a RASA volunteer, you can help us provide vital support and raise awareness for survivors of rape and sexual abuse.

Volunteer Opportunities:

1. RASA Ambassador

Help raise awareness about RASA’s mission! Represent us at local events, share information about our services, and engage with the community to ensure survivors know where to turn for help.

2. Listening Ear Volunteer

Be a compassionate presence for those waiting for counselling support. Provide emotional support to clients over the phone, offering a kind and empathic ear when they need it most.

3. Outreach Volunteer

Expand RASA’s scope by building connections with local organisations. Represent RASA by attend drop-in sessions, events and assist with completing new referrals to help clients access the support they need.

Volunteering is crucial to RASA and we are always looking to recruit and train new volunteers. RASA Merseyside practices positive discrimination by exclusively seeking women for recruitment.  We have one large volunteer intake per year. Successful recruits will receive training and lots of support to get you started.  As a volunteer you can:

  • Provide support to those who have experienced sexual violence.
  • Become a Trustee or member of a committee.
  • Get involved in our offices helping with admin. 
  • Raise funds and/or awareness.

Some roles require specific training which will be given to you. We no longer offer Counselling training placements to external candidates. All counsellors must be qualified to a minimum of diploma level 4 and you must be a member of the BACP. You must be over 18 years of age.  If you have previously been a service user you are welcome to volunteer after 12 months of your service ending. You can download an application form here and return it to This email address is being protected from spambots.
